IEEE PerCom 2008: Google Ph.D. Forum Call for Contributions
IEEE PerCom 2008, Mar 17th-21st, Hong Kong, China, announces:
A Ph.D. Forum on Pervasive Computing and Communications

For the first time, PerCom will include a Ph.D. Forum in her technical
programme. The Ph.D. Forum will be organized as a poster session for
Ph.D. students to present and discuss their dissertation research with
people in the pervasive computing and communications community. It
will be an interesting forum for Ph.D. students to get feedback on
their research and for industry to see academic work in progress.
Students planning to graduate within 1-2 years or who will have
completed their dissertation during the 2007-2008 academic year are
eligible to join.
Participation in the forum will be competitive and the top three
winners will have cash prizes of HK$10K, HK$7.5K and HK$5K,
respectively.
Paper Submission:
Ph.D. students are invited to submit four-page contributions by
January 28, 2008 describing current research and novel ideas in the
areas of pervasive computing and communications. The goal is to
encourage constructive debate on emerging research topics in pervasive
computing and ubiquitous services.
Authors should submit a four-page (maximum) manuscript in IEEE double
- column format including the authors' names, affiliations, Email
contacts, and a short abstract. Paper should be sent via email (with
Subject: "PerCom 2008 Google Ph.D. Forum Submission") as PDF files
to the Forum Chair - Prof. Joseph Kee-Yin Ng at jng at comp.hkbu.edu.hk
and only electronic submissions written in English will be accepted.
Authors of accepted contributions will be expected to travel to PerCom
2008 and make a poster presentation on their topic at the forum. There
is no forum registration fee for authors. Award certificates will be
given for the most innovative idea, and the most interesting
interdisciplinary research problem.
