CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
======================
European Project Showcase
@ IEEE CCGrid 2008, May 2008 (Lyon)
http://www.ens-lyon.fr/LIP/RESO/ccgrid2008/
in collaboration with the
European CoreGrid Network
"European Projects Showcase" event is taking place for the first time
alongside the IEEE CCGrid 2008 conference. This is a 4 hour event
(consisting of 2 sessions of two hours), aimed to highlight work taking
place in Grid and Cluster Computing in Europe. The event will highlight
European and nationally funded Grid projects in Europe, to those
attending the IEEE CCGrid conference. Based on previous years, CCGrid
has generally attracted a global participation, with significant numbers
from Europe and the Asia/Pacific region.
We are expecting to run 16 presentations of 15 minutes each, from
different projects across Europe working in Grid and Cluster Computing.
This event is being run in collaboration with the European CoreGrid
network of excellence. All submissions to this event will be featured on
the CoreGrid site at: http://www.coregrid.net/mambo/content/view/626/1/
<http://www.coregrid.net/content/view/626/1/>
The European Project Showcase is scheduled to take place on May 22, 2008
from 14:00 to 18:30. See conference program linked via the CCGrid 2008
Web site at: http://www.ens-lyon.fr/LIP/RESO/ccgrid2008/
Submission Instructions and Selection Criteria
----------------------
Authors are encouraged to submit a one page description of their
project. The submission should be in PDF format, formatted to A4 paper.
Please do not use any special fonts. Use a minimum of 10 points font size.
Please email your submission to: o.f.rana at cs.cardiff.ac.uk
<mailto:o.f.rana at cs.cardiff.ac.uk> with subject line "European Project
Showcase"
Due to a limited time, only 16 presentations will be selected. The
criteria for selection are as follows:
1. Identify the current stage of the project. Has it recently started or
finished? Projects which have mature deliverables/demonstrators will be
given preference. Please indicate if your software deliverables are
already downloadable for use.
2. Identify who is involved in the project -- those with a wider
European participation in the project will be given preference.
3. Identify whether your project already has a user base.
4. Identify the particular area your project focuses on -- i.e.
application area, infrastructure area (which one), etc. Projects which
cover emerging application areas will be given preference -- such as
interactive gaming, electronic markets, arts and humanities, etc. A
diverse mix of application areas will be selected. So, the greater the
novelty of your application domain -- the better!
5. Where there is a tie -- the earlier your submission, the greater the
likelihood of selection.
