GRIDNets2007 : 1st International Conference on Networks for Grid Applications

                      CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
                           http://gridnets.org
                    October 17-19, 2007, Lyon, France

OVERVIEW: The First International Conference on Networks for Grid Applications
(GridNets2007) will be held in October 2007 in Lyon, France. This is an
exciting opportunity for researchers and practitioners working in the area of
networking challenges for Grid applications, middleware or infrastructures.
Topics adressed by the conference cover network architectures for Grids,
optical networking into the Grid, network monitoring, data transport protocols
for Grids... See http://gridnets.eu for complete scope of the conference.

We solicit proposals for workshops focused on new and emerging research
directions, novel and highly innovative and interdisciplinary themes. An ideal
proposal would focus on a specific theme, be of current interest, and be able
to attract a number of quality submissions. Proposals for half-day or one-day
workshops to be held in conjunction with the conference are solicited.

WHAT TO SUBMIT: The workshop proposal should be a maximum of 2 pages long and
should clearly identify the theme, the scope, and specific topic areas of
interest which define the scope of the workshop. The proposal should also
suggest potential program chairs and program committee members.

Workshop proposals should include:
* Name of workshop and proposed URL of site to host CFP, program etc.
* Theme of the workshop and topics of interest and how these relate to the
overall conference
* Names, affiliations, and research interest of the organizers
* Who do you expect to attend the workshop?
* How do you plan to attract submissions and/or participants?
* Number of participants that is expected?
* What is the expected outcome of the workshop?
* How the workshop will be synergistic with GridNets (technical area,
community)?
* How do you plan to organize the workshop (participant selection, time line,
type of contributions)?
* How do you plan to run the workshop?

Workshop Organisation: We encourage having an international team of organizers
for a workshop who are from different institutions. We will aim for a balanced
workshop program trying to avoid overlapping themes. Organizers are expected to
be active themselves in the field where they propose a workshop. Please feel
free to discuss ideas for a workshop proposal by email with the workshop chair
prior to submission.

GridNets Workshops are a complementary forum to the main conference,
encouraging the presentation and discussion of work in progress and
facilitating a dialogue on emerging topics in small groups. Workshop sessions
will provide inspiring and influencing discussion on a variety of topics.

Workshop proceedings will be published in the GridNets proceedings volume,
which will be published with IEEE support (available via IEEE Xplore).
Workshop registration will be at a reduced price for GridNets2007 participants.
